Botnen Camping is a pleasant place to be. It is also a good starting point for various excursions and activities. The area around the campsite offers a great and varied hiking terrain with trails for both beginners and exercisers, but more experienced hikers will also find challenging trails. From Botnen Camping it is possible to take day trips to various interesting destinations in the area.
1. Sea fishing in Sognefjorden
Botnen Camping is located right on the Sognefjord, which is great for sea fishing. Here you can rent a boat and try your luck and if you are lucky you can get cod, saithe and lyre.

2. Hiking trips in the nearby area
In the vicinity of Botnen Camping there are many beautiful and easy hikes, among others to Søtekollen which is 557 meters above sea level. There is a well marked trail from Brekke – approx. 15 min. driving from Botnen Camping. At Søtekollen you get a view both inwards and outwards over the Sognefjord.

3. Tusenårsstaden Gulatinget
30 min. from Botnen Camping you will find the millennial city, the Gulatinget, which was the largest Lagting in Norway from the year 900 to 1300. The Lagting was the legislative, executive and judicial power, where the area of law included the whole coast, as well as Hallingdal, Setesdal and Valdres.

4. Massnes Wilderness Museum
Massnes Wilderness Museum is located on the south side of the Sognefjord, about 1 hour from Botnen Camping. Here you can experience animals from Norwegian nature, which can be interesting for the whole family.

5. Kong Olav Statuen
At Skjerjehamn you can visit the King Olav statue made by Knut Steen. There is also an old trading town on Skjerjehamn that is restored and possible to visit.
