Top 5 activities at Gryta Camping

The magnificent and grand nature of Indre Nordfjord, has made Stryn one of the main tourist districts in Norway. Here you will find Olden at the start of the Nordfjord. Gryta Camping is beautifully situated at The Oldevannet (lake) in Oldedalen. From the tent opening you can look straight at glaciers, high mountains and lush nature.

1. The playground at Gryta Camping

Gryta is a great place to spend your holiday – here you can relax and enjoy your time off, far away from your hectic everyday life. The playground is located near the reception at the campsite, here you will find swings, sand boxes and a trampoline, and even a small tractor. Here the kids can have a great time.

2. Fishing in The Olde Lake

Bring the entire family on a boat trip on beautiful Oldevannet (lake). While aboard you may even try your luck fishing or just explore the local area.  You can acquire the fishing license at the reception at the camp site, and we will be happy to inform you about the best fishing spots.

 3. Boat trip on the Olde Lake

Experience the silence and the beauty in the surroundings from the boat. Gryta Camping has two rowing boats that the guests can borrow, free of charge. Life vests are available for adults and kids at the reception desk.

4. Glacier hiking in Jostedalsbreen National park

In Jostedalsbreen National park , you will find Europe’s largest terrestrial glacier. Jostedalsbreen consists of several larger and smaller glaciers. Briksdalsbreen is only 10 min from Gryta Camping, and here you can order a guided tour on the glacier with Briksdal Breføring.

Remember good hiking shoes and warm clothes for the hike.

5. The gondola in Loen – Loen Skylift

At the end of Nordfjord you will find a gondola that takes you from sea level  right up to 1011 masl. When at the top you will have an amazing view of Skåla and Lovannet (lake) in the east, The Jostedal Glacier and Olden in the south and the Nordfjord towards Stryn in the west.
